Coaches and Saloons of The Golden Chariot
The coaches of The Golden Chariot Train are reminiscent of the erstwhile dynasties of the state of Karnataka. The total 18 coaches of the train comprises of 11 passenger coaches, 2 restaurant coaches, one lounge bar, one coach for the Spa and Gym and one coach for the staff. The passenger coaches of the named after the dynasties and empires of Karnataka such as Hoysala, Kadamba, Ganga, Rashtrakuta, Chalukya, Bahamani, Adilshahi, Sangama, Shathavahana, Yadukula and Vijayanagara.
The interiors of the coaches are decorated with furniture and ceilings which are inspired by the Mysore and Hoysala architecture. The interiors feature carpeted floor, intricate carvings on ceiling, wall panels and furniture. The cabins include 26 twin beds, 17 double beds and a single cabin for the physically challenged person. Each cabin has twin beds or double beds along with cupboards for storage of luggage, a side table, lushly carved writing desk and bedspreads and upholstery made of rich silks. The facilities include attached bathroom with toiletries, Wi-Fi, LCD television, DVD with 6 satellite channels and wardrobe.
